RW J.P. Dumont posted his sixth 20-goal campaign in the past seven NHL seasons in 2007-08, notching a career-high and team-leading 72 points (29 goals, 43 assists) in 80 games. His performance in January was among the best in a calendar month by any player in franchise history -- he ranked second among NHL scorers with 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in 14 games and posted a career and franchise-best 16-game point streak from Dec. 29 - Jan. 31 (8-14--22). Only Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby (19 games) and Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg (17 games) posted longer point streaks this season.
In the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Dumont scored two goals in both Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinal against San Jose, becoming the first player since Pittsburgh C Petr Nedved in 1996 to score four-or-more goals in his first two postseason games with a new team.
